CJ Albertson won the Baja California Marathon

Daniel Valdez from Mexico made history in the 57th edition of the Baja California Marathon by achieving an unofficial time of 2:13.27 and taking third place overall.

Mexicali. With the event record and unofficial time of 2:11.08, the American athlete, CJ Albertson, became the absolute winner of the 57th edition of the Baja California Marathon.

The native of Fresno, California, achieved the mark required to be included in the next American marathon nationals that will provide places for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

This Sunday, the 57th edition of the Baja California Marathon took place in Mexico, where more than 900 runners participated and more than half a million pesos were distributed to the winners.

The start of the marathon is at 6:25 this Sunday at the Ciudad Deportiva facility, where the finish line is also located.

On her part, Nigerian Mary Akor was the top winner of the Baja California Marathon in the women’s branch after achieving an unofficial time of 2:41.47 in the 42-kilometer event.

Likewise, Daniel Valdez from Mexico made history in the 57th edition of the Baja California Marathon by achieving an unofficial time of 2:13.27 and taking third place overall.

“Pollito” Valdez made history by re-establishing himself as the best Baja Californian in the event and establishing a new best mark for a man born in Baja California.

The Baja California Marathon starts and ends at Sports City in Mexicali and is organized by the Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of Baja California in coordination with the Baja California State Athletics Association.
