Colombia’s communes congratulate Nicaragua on election results

Bogotá, Nov 8 (Prensa Latina) Colombia’s communes party on Sunday congratulated the people of Nicaragua, the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN), President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo for a resounding electoral victory.

The FSLN-headed Alianza Unida Nicaragua Triunfa won the mayoral victory of 153 municipalities following Sunday’s elections in the Central American nation, the CSE said.

According to the unit, with the boards scrutinized getting 99.13 percent votes, FSLN won by securing 73.70 percent, which is equivalent to One Lakh 494 Thousand 688 votes out of Two Lakh 28 Thousand 035 valid.

The electoral unit specified that the total votes were two lakh 108 thousand three, while those canceled were 79 thousand 988.

He pointed out that Sunday’s contest had 15 parties divided into two alliances and four political formations, and had a citizen participation of 57.09 percent.
