Community Tree Planting Events in Saint Paul on Saturday

The Creative Entrepreneurship Zone in Saint Paul hosts a community tree planting event from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. On October 9, ten varieties of new trees will be planted to add shade, reduce heat, improve public health, air and water quality and add color. St. Paul.

The event will kick off at Landbridge Ecological at 670 Vandalia Street and trees will be planted less than a mile away, according to a statement from the Creative Enterprise Zone.

We encourage volunteers of all ages and abilities to help you recover. During the event, volunteers will be trained. The equipment will be available, but it is recommended that you carry work gloves and a shovel.

The event is part of their “100 Trees” initiative to grow and plant 100 trees in the South St Anthony Park area in 2021. The main industrial area lacks trees, making it a “heat island” or area where temperatures tend to be higher.

To volunteer, RSVP email Ben Schardlow at [email protected]

Meanwhile, another tree planting event will be organized at Frogtown Green on Saturday as well. In this case, as part of the Free Trees for Frogtown program, 75 trees will be planted, and all free trees for 2021 will be in demand. Email [email protected] or call 651-757-5970 to volunteer for the event.

There is no tree canopy on private land in the area, Frogtown Green said. The group has planted about 500 trees in Frogtown, with a target of 1,000 by 2025.
