The Ensenada Business School Linking Committee (COVEE), led by Joaquín Moya Cussi, presented its project for the “Promotion of Economic Vocations in Ensenada and Baja California.”
This program, supported by the Ensenada Economic Development Council (Codeen) and the Baja California Business Trust (FIDEM), has the main objective of promoting the decision-making knowledge of high school students and adapting their interests and abilities to opportunities. market in Baja California.
Joaquín Moya, president of COVEE, stated that one of the main goals is to link universities regarding their academic process to vocations and to make it a simultaneous axis where young people can take root so that they stay at work. dignity and autonomy in the development of a profession completely immersed in the economic vocations of the state.
He added that the project is in line with the economic development goals of Baja California and has strong support from FIDEM and the backing of CODEEN.
Mr. Alejandro Flores, director of CODEEN, mentioned that Baja California, especially Ensenada, offers a perfect environment for young people to develop and make strong decisions about what they study. which is compatible with the vocations that exist in the region and the development opportunities.
“From the Ensenada Economic Development Council and through FIDEM, 17 projects have been approved that are already underway in various sectors, one of which is going to the training and promotion stage for the youth. In addition to others that are also focused on improving security through urban planning and development, all of them are sponsored by various business organizations and supported by nearly ten million pesos from FIDEM,” he emphasized.
They seek active participation from the student community
The “Promotion of Vocations” program seeks to establish an effective link between educational institutions and local industry, promoting active collaboration that encourages the participation of students not only from Baja California but also from the surrounding states, creating an impact at the regional level. facilitating the connection between market demand and career choices.
For this purpose, personal and virtual activities will be held, such as forums, discussions, and events in educational institutions, where direct information will be provided. In addition, a digital library will be established that will offer students free access to a wide range of current information.
The presentation of the objectives of the program took place during a press conference at the facilities of the Cetys University Chemical Gym. In that event, which included the participation of Lic. Alejandro Flores, Director of CODEEN; Lic. Lucia Aguirre, from the Economic Development Directorate of the XXIV City Council of Ensenada; and Lic. Josu Veliz Gómez, Ensenada delegate of JuventudBC, there was the presence of counselors, coordinators, directors, and teachers from secondary and higher education institutions, as well as representatives of business organizations.
