COVID-19 test results accidentally shared with some LAUSD parents

The names of some students in the Los Angeles Unified School District who previously tested positive for the coronavirus appear to have been mistakenly shared with some parents, as their children need to resume testing for COVID-19. Emails were sent to families who should not have received the notice. ,

According to a tweet posted by the LA Parent Union, the district shared the names of students who have recovered from coronavirus and who will soon have to resume mandatory COVID-19 testing as their remission period ends. .

The tweet included a screenshot of a parent’s inbox with district emails, each possibly identifying a student who needs to start testing again. The tweet also included a screenshot of an email with a note that parents had received notices that were not about their own children. Email addresses and names were blacked out in the post.
