CCTV footage showed the shooter pointing a gun at the head of another man who was holding an infant during an argument at a gas station in Detroit on Sunday, police said and in a report.
Footage from heartbreaking footage released by police on Monday shows the victim juggling a sleeping 7-month-old baby with one arm while holding out the other, apparently trying to protect the baby from the shooter.
The unidentified victim told police that the assailant was chasing him at a Valero gas station at the intersection of Hubble and Tyreman Avenues in Michigan, Detroit’s Fox 2 News reported.
The report says that it looks like the men had an argument in the street beforehand.

When the assailant drew a gun, the young father raised his hand, still holding the child, striking the weapon and possibly causing it to malfunction, police said.
Surveillance video shows the shooter in a white tank top and brimmed hat exiting a gas station, fiddling with his pistol.
Police asked for advice on Monday and announced an arrest in the case hours later. The suspect has not yet been identified.

The site praised the public on Twitter for quickly responding to a request for information.
“The 2nd Precinct would like to thank our community for providing the information that led us to take this man into custody,” the post reads.
