Cuban chefs Enoch Tamayo Acosta, Kevin Pérez Rivero and Isabella Tamayo González-Piñera obtained three important awards at the Claudio Ferrer Continental Cuisine Cup, held in Mar del Plata, Argentina, which shows the quality of the national cuisine, reports of sources from the consulted sector.
Ángel Guillermo Aguilera Castillo, general director of the Local Development Project “La Moneda Cubana”, to which the three winners belong, told Excelencias that Tamayo Acosta and Pérez Rivero won first and second place in the Senior Professional Chef category, and Pérez Rivero and Tamayo González-Piñera, the second in the Junior Chef category.
Aguilera Castillo emphasized the role played by the team from the Greater Antilles, especially the three members of the project in the southern country, who came to represent Cuban Creole cuisine with great honor.
In the Senior Professional Chef category, the manager stated, Tamayo Acosta and Pérez Rivero won the Continental Cup and Gold Medal, which also earned them a direct qualification for the world championship in Singapore 2024, as well as participating in Challengers the World. again next year, whose headquarters have not yet been determined.
In addition, he is proud of the work done by the members of the Project, in the Junior Chef category, for culinary institute students or chefs under 24 years old, Pérez Rivero and Tamayo González-Piñera, daughter of Enoch, achieved -ot a Silver Medal, an indisputable sample of the professionalism of these young culinary experts from the Island, he said.
He also explained that in the Senior Chef category, the Cubans presented Tamale with wild ajiaco sauce, “Century of Lights” fish and rice pudding in two textures and two temperatures with coconut water and cinnamon and a lemon foam .
For his part, Aguilera Castillo admitted, in Junior Chef they presented Camarón al mojito and Casaña cimarrona (Lasagna made of cassava) and Foam of rum, coffee and chocolate with the taste of tobacco smoke, which also attracted many attention of the judges and the audience..
In this regard, he emphasized that the winning dishes, both Cuban and those presented by chefs from other countries in the region, caused a great sensation among the participants due to their originality, quality, taste and good taste.
