A young Cuban couple, lovers of adventure, made their dream of getting married come true in a unique, risky, and unforgettable ceremony: Anet and Yoel celebrated their wedding under the sea of the waters off the coast of Havana.
Organizing the underwater activity was done by the project Diving in Cuba and it became a challenge to the skill of the team that had to overcome obstacles and difficult situations, such as making it possible for the couple’s relatives to attend that important moment in their lives, even though they did not practice diving.

His first idea was to get married by jumping from a parachute or paraglider. but it became more difficult for them, and because they were able to do diving practices with Cuba Divings, they agreed to seal their love under the sea.
The impressive wedding pictures were taken by the actress and influencer Camila Carballowho documented the whole “backstage”, the ceremony, and the post-event on his YouTube channel.
Nerves were tested almost all the time during more than a month of preparation. This is not the first underwater wedding in Cuba but perhaps the first where most of the attendees are not professional divers, representing one of the most challenging objectives.
Logistics was another challenge for the organizers, who had to move the entire structure and furniture about three meters from the beach, assemble and secure it with gym counterweights, and then make the decoration, just two hours in not yet the event.
“Many words come to mind of excitement and satisfaction, after organizing this amazing event with my team. These are days of work, of emotions, of sadness, even thinking about being- because of the obstacles we encountered: the creativity, strength, effort, and love contributed by everyone made it possible for this dream to come true (… ). So simple but at the same time so powerful,” wrote Cuba Divings in Its Instagram profile.
As with all weddings, there are unexpected events and moments of comedy. When everything is ready, a sudden heavy rain threatens to “wash away” the event, impossible in the case of a celebration surrounded by the sea.
Yoel and Anet, dressed in their wedding suits -he was white, with frog legs and a matching mask-, with complete diving equipment, swam to the “altar” of the sea, where the master of ceremony made the wedding official by showing the original poster: “As no one opposes because no one can speak, by the power given to me by Poseidon, I declare you a mermaid and a mermaid, you can now kiss your boyfriend. ”
And there was a kiss to seal the union in the sea, where “life tastes better.”
