Cuban visual artist imagines Fidel Castro’s monument to be ruined

The exiled Cuban artist Camila Lobón He imagined the Fidel Castro monument being “destroyed” on the last day of the Cuban regime.

The work “Monument to collapse” was created with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and represents a series of images of a crowd of Cubans removing a statue of the dictator, leaving an empty pedestal. in its place.

For the writer Carlos A. Aguilera, these “pictures of Camila Lobón, more than a dream (which they are), show the Cuba that will soon arrive.”

Lobón, one of the critical artists who are part of the 27N movement and close to the San Isidro Movement, who was exiled after the pressure and humiliation he was subjected to by the State Security, spread the pictures on Facebook.

In November 2021, Lobón said that democracy in Cuba is a tangible reality, and He reported that he was in Miami “to regain a little important freedom.”

Recently, some Cuban activists envisioned the face of future Cuba through AI.

Cuban activist Saily González Velázquez shared images of a prosperous Cuba without exceptions created by AI and He asked his countrymen to envision the country they dream of creating for others.

“Many of us will not be the young people in those photos, nor will the old people be our grandparents. Maybe they will be our parents, those happy old people, but they will be. Which one is your favorite? Do you have a dream for Cuba that you want it to feature artificial intelligence? González Velázquez said.

In the pictures you can see Cubans of all ages, smiling and gathering in what seems to be a traditional party, in front of a roast pork and a table full of drinks and food.
