“In these times where the globalization of culture prevails, our country is carrying out the Cultural Decolonization Program, a commendable act to keep our Culture pure and remain the Sword and Sword of the Nation, an incorruptible source of our heritage and tradition.”
Considering these areas, the Municipal Directorate of Culture of Santiago de Cuba has programmed several actions to promote the Day of Cuban Culture Day from October 10 to 20.
The actions are aimed at preserving and developing traditional popular culture, the Movement of amateur artists, paying tribute to national and local cultural figures and institutions that give dignity to the country’s culture.
In order to achieve the set goals, a diverse and balanced program was created that took into account the wishes and preferences of the population of Santiago.
It includes nearly 60 actions such as talks, clubs, exhibitions, galas, meetings of creators, contests, in cultural institutions and other spaces where actions are supported by Popular Councils.
After 10 days of deep cultural exchange, this macro event ended with the greeting of the Day for the Culture of Cuba.
The days where creators, instructors, methodologists, managers, authorities and amateur and professional talent unite in the noble work of giving dignity to the roots, traditions and knowledge that make up our identity.
A comprehensive program was offered to the people, where the Cuban identity and love for the native prevailed, as a confirmation that the present and future of our culture, that is, the future of our country, is assured.
