Cyclone Yaas completes landfall, causes extensive damage in Odisha and West Bengals

Cyclone Yaas is feared in West Bengal and Odisha. Cyclone Yaas struck at Dhamra port in Bhadrak district of Odisha. Due to cyclone Yaas, water is entering residential areas in the coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal. Special Relief Commissioner of Odisha P.K. Which said the landfall process has been completed. The landfall occurred between Balasore and Dhamra.

Cyclone Yaas completed the landfall process

Scientist Umashankar Das of Meteorological Center Bhubaneswar said that Cyclone Yaas has completed the landfall process. It will continue to rain tomorrow. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea until tomorrow morning. Because the situation there could get worse.

Cyclone Yaas is currently moving from Odisha. But he has done a lot of damage to the state. The sea water had penetrated into the villages there. Many huts have been washed away with it. Cyclone Yaas in Odisha has caused flood-like conditions in Dhamra in Bhadrak district. Dhamra district has also suffered heavy losses.

Now the NDRF is doing relief work there. Work is also underway to remove fallen trees. Boats and shops have been damaged in Odishafollowing the cyclone. Police barricades were also blown in Udaipur near the borders of West Bengal and Odisha.

Damage to fishing boats due to cyclone in Paradip, Odisha

The Jamuzadi road in Bhadrak district in Odisha has also been damaged by cyclone Yaas. Work is currently underway to repair it. Fishing boats have been damaged due to the cyclone in Paradip, Odisha. On the other hand, Jagatsinghpur ODRF (Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force) team is clearing roads in Pardeep Nagar area.

Cyclone Yaas damages three lakh homes in Bengal

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that cyclone “Yaas” had damaged three lakh houses in Bengal due to bad weather conditions. He also said that more than two lakh people had been evacuated to safer places due to the floods.

Bengal CM review meeting, discussion on Cyclone Yaas

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a review meeting with the District Magistrate, District Management Committee and other officials in view of Cyclone Yaas. It is learned that Mamata Banerjee will visit East Midnapore on May 28.
