Daniel Sancho’s life was cut short at the beginning of August, when he confessed to being responsible for Edwin Arrieta’s crime. Since then, the young 29-year-old chef remains temporarily admitted to the prison of Koh Samui, waiting for the trial to determine his level of responsibility for the murder of the Colombian surgeon and his final fate. The threat of a death sentence hangs over him, although life behind bars in a Thai prison does not seem like a good alternative. This is why he turned to money twice to avoid his fate, as he recently revealed to his new lawyer that surprised everyone.
Until now it is not known that the son of Rodolfo Sancho and Silvia Bronchalo wants to pay the bail to escape his preventive stay in prison. Conditions behind bars were deplorable, but he said he was “calm” when he entered. Perhaps he tried to downplay his situation, so that his loved ones would not suffer. But in fact he did not want to be there and tried the impossible to regain his freedom, wanting to pay the corresponding bail, as the lawyer Grit Sudthanom discovered. Of course, Thai justice stopped his claims at first, explaining that he could not avoid his imprisonment.
“I know that Daniel Sancho tried twice to pay bail, but the Koh Samui Court refused him,” explained the lawyer who joined the defense team of the young man.
