A new twist in the case of Daniel Sancho could overturn everything known so far about the murder and subsequent dismemberment of Edwin Arrieta. Until now, only the Spanish chef has been accused of being responsible for the surgeon’s death, but recent statements by the chief of the Koh Phangan police station, Colonel Panya Nirtimanon, raise the possibility that a third person may have helped him.
“Daniel didn’t come to Thailand from Spain; he came from another country, but I can’t tell you more details,” he told the reporters of the program “Let’s See,”, who explained that Daniel Sancho landed in Thailand from “another country,” which is not Spain, and possibly accompanied by another person”. At the moment, not many details are known about this hypothesis, and it seems that we will have to wait for the trial to find out if the son of Rodolfo Sancho collaborated with another person in the crime of Edwin Arrieta.
This is a scenario that his defense wants to avoid at all costs, because it would mean that Sancho has committed a new crime to add to the three he already faces: membership in a criminal gang. In total, there are four serious cases that greatly reduce the possibility of the death penalty, applicable to premeditated murder, being transferred to a life sentence.
The truth is that shortly after the explosion of the case, Carmen Balfagón, one of the spokespeople of the Sancho family, pointed out that Daniel could collaborate with another person: “I’m sure he was accompanied. the corpse for a long time. (.. .) It seems that there was an agreement with another person, not very organized, that he would throw a part of the body in the landfill in a bag. And that person left the purchase receipt there for the material that someone allegedly killed him.”
At the time, Big Joke denied this possibility, but three months later, this scenario seems possible again, according to the head of the police station in Koh Phangan.
