Caracas.- This Monday the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, asked his followers to remain alert to the “enemies” of Venezuela, since in his view, they do not stop at Christmas. or new Year.
“They are experts in moving in the shadows, they are masters of manipulation, of deception,” Cabello said. “They show us that they don’t respect December, Easter, Carnival, anything. They act, they manipulate, they act.”
In that sense, the deputy of the National Assembly for the PSUV stressed that “therefore the call of our party, between celebration and celebration, let’s watch things in the streets.”
Regarding the victory of “Yes” in the referendum on December 3, Cabello emphasized that the Organic Law for the Defense of Guayana Esequiba, recently approved by the Executive, is a fundamental instrument for the defense of this territory.
“We went to the states, institutions, to receive contributions, observations on this law,” said Cabello. “Our political organization has a fundamental role. We will assume the leading role in this beautiful reality that is the establishment of our Guayana Esequiba,” he declared.
It is worth noting that on Friday, December 8, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, signed the measures that he announced on Monday the 4th, after the official results of the consultative referendum in Essequibo.
Among the measures announced are the appointment of Alexis Rodríguez Cabello as the sole authority of the state of Guayana Esequiba, the creation of a high national commission for the defense and recovery of the region, the officialization of the new official map of Venezuela which includes Guayana Esequiba, the creation of PDVSA-Esequibo and CVG-Esequibo division, and the creation of a new Comprehensive Defense Zone in Guayana Esequiba.
Close 2023 with victory
Cabello also talked about the Christmas festivities, which are celebrated in Venezuela starting this December.
“In December we enter the Christmas festival, everyone celebrates it according to their possibilities, according to their tradition,” he said. “We know the limits, but the Venezuelan joy does not disappear. We leave the bitterness to others.”
Cabello ended his speech by calling on Venezuelans to end the year 2023 with victory and prepare for the challenges of 2024.
“We will end 2023 with victory, with a lot of enthusiasm,” he asked. “2024 is one of many battles, the world has eyes on Venezuela,” he concluded.
