Children in basic education will not have classes on Thursday, November 2 due to the celebration of the Day of the Dead according to the calendar of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP); However, in the case of adults the issue of mandatory break is different.
In Mexico, if you work during certain holidays, your employer is obliged to pay you three times the amount, because the payment is equivalent to your usual working day and another support of double the amount of your day . This means that if on a normal day you earn 250 pesos, they must give you 750 on a holiday.

In the case of the Day of the Dead, although it is one of the most important holidays in Mexico, the Federal Labor Law does not consider it a holiday. Therefore, there is no additional payment for working on those days.
November 1 or November 2 are not considered holidays in Mexico, so people should work normally; However, there are companies that themselves give November 2nd off, beyond what is indicated in the Federal Labor Law.
However, in the case of payment, there is no ‘extra’ because you are not considered to have provided your services on a holiday.
What day in November should you be paid triple according to the Federal Labor Law?
Although there is no additional payment on the Day of the Dead, November has a date where if you work you should be paid three times, and it is Monday, November 20, the Day of the Mexican Revolution.
The Federal Labor Law establishes that the third Monday of November must be a holiday due to the celebration of the holiday in Mexico. So, on that day you have to rest or else you have to be paid triple payment for the day.
