Ecuador ended the week with a new National Assembly in office

The lawmaker Henry Kronfle, of the Social Christian Party, was elected as head of the legislature this Friday, in the first session of that body with 128 votes, a support that was the result of an agreement between several organizations, including Citizen Revolution (RC) and the bloc official (DNA).

He emphasized that the country owes the election to the crossed death, a mechanism applied by the president on May 17, and that “the person responsible for the misgovernment will finally leave.”

He stated that they will work to respond from the legislative chamber to the needs of the citizens and to fight hard against the uncertainty of the current constitutional tools.

Assemblywoman Viviana Veloz, from RC, was elected as first vice president, with 99 favorable votes, and Eckenner Recalde, from ADN, as second vice president.

We cannot be an Assembly that turns its back on the pains of the Motherland, Veloz specified and pointed out that the new Government, led by Daniel Noboa, must take care and rise to the level of the people.

The parliamentarian, known for promoting the political trial against Lasso, believes that the outgoing president should not be punished, thus leaving open the possibility of continuing the process.

Another event took place this week in Ecuador, where the elected ruler, Daniel Noboa, received a credential from the National Electoral Council, a document that enables him to exercise his functions.

After receiving the certificate, Noboa gave a short speech in which he stated that he does not have red lines for dialogue, but for action, because “we are never in favor of impunity and we do not support political forces and individuals who want to violate the Constitution.”

He warned that his administration will fight groups rooted in corruption and will not support criminal organizations.

The inauguration of the incoming ruler will take place on November 23 at the headquarters of the National Assembly and on that day his extraordinary period of governance will begin until May 24, 2025.

Lasso’s successor will receive a country that has been hit by the worst wave of uncertainty in history, an energy crisis and its economic problems.
