This Wednesday Manchester City beat Arsenal 4-1 at home at the Etihad Stadium in perhaps the most spectacular game of the Premier League season.
The Gunners who had been the leaders for almost the entire campaign now saw their position threatened, as the Nationals were two points behind with two fewer games played.
Abusing the situation was City goalkeeper Ederson, who viciously taunted the opposing team’s supporters as the game approached its final stages.
He turned around and looked at the spot where oncoming fans were supposed to stick out their tongues and pretend to cry with their hands.
The Brazilian’s gesture incensed the local fans, who joined in the goalkeeper’s mock cry in the stands.
While Arsenal fans disapproved of what happened on the network. One said, “I saw that and I was immediately shocked, I couldn’t believe it.”
The truth is that it will now take a miracle for Arsenal to win the Premier League title with just five games to play.
And it won’t be easy, because on May 2nd they will host Chelsea and on the 7th they will have to visit Newcastle, a team with a very good season. The last three are against Brighton, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton.
Meanwhile, the City only needs to face one of the big six. It will be against Chelsea on the last date.
Arsenal’s only advantage is that they will have more rest than Guardiola’s team, who also have to play the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid and the FA Cup final against Manchester United.
