Eknath Shinde: Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde reached Delhi at midnight, discussed from cabinet split to rebellion of Shiv Sena MPs

Delhi/Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reached the capital New Delhi late on Monday night. He reached Indira Gandhi Airport by plane from Mumbai at night. However, the Chief Minister’s Office has not given any reason for his one-day visit. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) told that he will return to Mumbai late on Tuesday night.

Shinde reached Maharashtra Sadan directly from the airport, where he was welcomed with bouquets amid security. After the rebellion of Shiv Sena MLAs led by CM Eknath Shinde, now the MPs are also in the mood of rebellion. According to a Shiv Sena MP from Maharashtra, at least 12 MPs will form a separate faction in the Lok Sabha. The rebel MP can hold a press conference with Shinde. At the same time, Shinde’s visit to Delhi is also being considered important from the point of view of discussion on cabinet division.

This will be Shinde’s second visit to the national capital after taking oath as the chief minister here on June 30. Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited New Delhi on 8 and 9 July. The two leaders had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on July 20 petitions related to the recent political crisis in Maharashtra that led to the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena had split a few weeks ago and 40 MLAs joined the faction led by Eknath Shinde.
