This will be Shinde’s second visit to the national capital after taking oath as the chief minister here on June 30. Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited New Delhi on 8 and 9 July. The two leaders had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on July 20 petitions related to the recent political crisis in Maharashtra that led to the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena had split a few weeks ago and 40 MLAs joined the faction led by Eknath Shinde.
12 MPs of Shiv Sena attended the online meeting with Eknath Shinde on Monday. It was attended by Sadashiv Lokhande, Hemant Godse, Hemant Patil, Rajendra Gavit, Sanjay Mandlik, Shrikant Shinde, Shrirang Barne, Rahul Shevale, Prataprao Jadhav, Patience Mane, Kripal Tumane, Bhavna Gawli. Vinayak Raut, Arvind Sawant, Gajanan Kirtikar, Sanjay Jadhav, Om Rane Nimbalkar and Rajan Vichar did not attend the meeting called by Shinde on Monday.
