american company Emtricity Launched the first solid-state technology for home energy storage, bringing to market battery efficiencies thought to be impossible before 2030.
Amtricity’s solid state battery is available in 12 kWh, 24 kWh, 36 kWh and 48 kWh
These new batteries that use solid electrolytes instead of the liquid or polymer gels used by more traditional lithium-ion batteries. A substantial difference that provides greater security of use and, at the same time, higher power density and lower total operating costs.
The company Emptricity is the first to commercialize these batteries and today it says it is ready to deliver 4 GWh of “solid” batteries in the next two years. that is, Enough equipment to supply 400,000 homes,
,Vision of Emtricity«, explain the founders of the company on their website, «Every home is installing our solid-state energy storage system and building rapidly. and all over the world,
Solid State Battery for Residential Storage
The Emtricity residential storage system will have four possible sizes: 12 kWh, 24 kWh, 36 kWh and 48 kWh, a wide operating range (-40°C to 55°C) and a useful life of up to 11,000 charge cycles and downloads.
This allows the company to offer a consistent 25-year warranty on the photovoltaic solar panels.
Furthermore, it is evident that it has high energy density and great storage efficiency, with an annual retention rate of over 96%. This storage technology, the company explains in a press release, provides users with up to 8 hours of power, simultaneous charge and discharge processes, and lasts up to three times longer than lithium-ion batteries.
Photovoltaic homeowners will love our solid-state residential storage systems because they provide superior performance and are non-flammable, non-toxic and can be 100% recyclable.

Designed for self-consumption or simple backup, solid-state batteries take up a significantly smaller footprint: in home models, weights range from 120 kg to 480 kg (four units combined).
The residential storage system will be available from 2023, with the company already starting marketing commercial units of up to 1 MWh capacity in these months.
