The general secretary of the PSOE-A, Juan Espadas, chose the socialist deputy for Jaén in the Andalusian Parliament and secretary of the Organization of the party in this province, Jacinto Viedma, as the new secretary of the Organization of the party of Andalusia within the framework in the remodeling that he will do under the direction of the Andalusian socialist federation.
As announced by the Ser network and socialist sources confirmed by Europa Press, Espadas will propose Viedma as the new Secretary of the Organization in place of Noel López from Granada at the meeting to be held next Friday in Seville of the Steering Committee of the PSOE – A, the highest body in the game between congresses.
Born in Jaén in 1964, Biedma has been the Secretary of the Organization of the PSOE in this province for more than a decade under the guidance of the provincial secretary and president of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Francisco Reyes, and has been a deputy in the Andalusian Parliament since 2019, where he is currently vice president of the Tourism, Culture and Sports Commission and spokesperson of the Commission for Monitoring and Control of Financing of Political Parties.
At the municipal level he was mayor between 2007 and 2012 of the municipality of Segura de la Sierra, where he was also councilor of Education and Culture between 1999 and 2003, first deputy mayor between 2003 and 2007 and councilor between 2012 and 2015.
The appointment of Viedma as Secretary of the Organization is not the only change that Espadas will involve in the socialist regional leadership, since the Andalusian parliamentarian for Huelva and the deputy spokesperson of the Socialist Group María Márquez left the federal Executive Commission of the PSOE last week – -where he held the Training Secretariat– in order to have “greater weight and responsibility” in the leadership of PSOE-A who asked for “greater dedication to his organic task in Andalusia.”
Juan Espadas plans to announce this Thursday, January 25, the changes he will make in the PSOE-A Regional Executive Commission, one day before the PSOE-A Steering Committee will give the green light to the remodeling. In addition, the socialist leader plans to announce the dates of the composition of the “alternative government” that he designed for his opposition work in Andalusia.
