Vancouverites looking to “party in the city where it’s summer” haven’t had the option of flying non-stop in a staggering 18 years.
However, starting this winter, locals who want to kick back on breathtaking South Beach will enjoy direct service from the nation’s largest airline.
Air Canada has announced thrice-weekly service from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Miami International Airport (MIA), scheduled to begin on December 17, 2022.
In 2019, Air Transat announced a direct service from Vancouver to another major Florida tourist destination, Fort Lauderdale, but the option was cut short by the pandemic announcement in March 2020.
What to know about flights from Vancouver to Miami
Air Canada will fly from Vancouver to Miami on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing YVR at 8:20 a.m. PST and arriving at MIA at 5:06 a.m. EST.
Miami departure is scheduled at 6 PM EST, arriving in Vancouver at 9:45 PM PST.
A direct flight from YVR to MIA will take about five hours and 46 minutes, while the return service will take about six hours and 45 minutes.
Pricing on Miami to Vancouver Flights
Tickets are already available for purchase on Air Canada’s website, with the one-way option selling for just over $300 CAD inclusive of all taxes and fees and a return service for just over $550 CAD.
You can cancel within 24 hours for a full refund. After this time, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. The maximum change fee applicable is $200 CAD per direction, per passenger, plus any applicable taxes and fare differences.

Air Canada will use Boeing 737 MAX 8 passenger for this route.
The first four rows of aircraft are business class with reclined seats. There are 153 standard economy class seats available, and 54 of these seats are designated as preferred, meaning you’ll enjoy extra legroom and priority boarding (this option may come with an additional fee).
According to seatguru.com, “The new aircraft features quieter engine technology, improved overhead storage, an advanced inflight entertainment system and access to power ports on every seat.”
