Amid the global focus on climate change, Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (“Zoomlion”) accelerates its green transformation roadmap to promote sustainable development. This initiative is part of the company’s responsibility to ensure a sustainable future through product innovation and the development of new strengths.
Climate change affects every region and every person on Earth. For a brighter future for the world, António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, emphasized that renewable energy is the only credible way forward if the world is to avoid a climate catastrophe, and the only sustainable future is changeable.
Zoomlion: eco-innovation in action
The core of Zoomlion’s green transformation roadmap is to create world-class green products and build sustainable factories through R&D and the establishment of green design, manufacturing, management, and standards.
Green manufacturing: Until June 2023, Zoomlion will operate a total of five smart factories and 170 production lines. This includes an earthmoving machinery park and a smart tower crane factory within the Zoomlion Smart Industrial City, along with smart factories for concrete mixing trucks and hydraulic valves.
At the Changde tower crane factory, Zoomlion implements green production techniques such as water-based paint, green electrophoresis, and frequency conversion technology. These measures resulted in a 90% reduction in welding fumes, a 70% reduction in VOC emissions, and a 15% energy savings.
In October, Zoomlion’s Sino-Belarus Industrial Park was named Best Global Practices by the United Nations Global Compact for its strong commitment to sustainable development practices.
Ecological management: Zoomlion digitizes the management of the entire R&D process, processes, manufacturing, sales, services, etc. to build a chain and complete process evaluation method. This method allows for comprehensive, efficient, and environmentally friendly operations.
Organic products: In December 2022, Zoomlion launched 156 new electrical equipment covering 13 product lines, from engineering accommodation machinery to agricultural machinery. These include pure electric, hybrid, and hydrogen fuel options, as well as battery swapping and plug-in charging methods. Achieving many world firsts, most recently, Zoomlion launched its first new energy agricultural machinery in October.
Ecological projects: Zoomlion’s construction machinery products support mega clean energy projects around the world, including the world’s largest wind power project in ultra-high-altitude areas above 4,500 meters in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China and a major wind energy lift project in Turkey.
