Fawcett Signal Support for Newsom’s California Vaccine Mandate for Students

Dr. Anthony Anthony Fawcett indicated on Sunday that he supported California Governor Gavin Newsom’s decision to make vaccination compulsory for all students, saying it was “something new, not new,” specified for COVID-19.

“I agree with what Government News has done in California,” Fawcett told CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday. “People need to understand that the need for vaccines in schools is not a new, fancy thing that is very special or specific for Kovid-1 to. We have been doing this for decades. ”

Newsom, a Democrat, announced Friday a vaccine mandate for school children in grades 7 to 12, once vaccines have received full approval from the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA), making California the first state to implement such a requirement.

Newsum said at the time, “The state already needs students to be vaccinated against the virus that causes measles, mumps and rubella – there is no reason why we should not do so for Kovid-1 for.”

“So when we look at it, it seems like it’s never happened before,” said Fawcett, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

“It’s actually running with other vaccines, so let’s do it with a virus that’s very, very serious.”

So far, the FDA has only given an emergency approval to 12- to 15-year-olds.

Newsom’s plan to vaccinate schoolchildren with Covid-1 vaccine has received mixed reactions, with West Virginia Governor Jim Justice announcing Sunday that he too has “no chance” to do so.

“From the point of view of order, I do not believe in imposing our freedom. And I ended up saying, I don’t know how many times I have to say that, “a Republican judge told CBS’s” Face the Nation. “

“But from our children’s perspective, I’m still going to encourage in every way, because I really believe that the more people we vaccinate, the less people will die. But at the same time, we have to stand up for who we are.”
