Fiat E-Ulysse: this is the new electric vehicle of the Italian brand

After the immense success of the Fiat 500e, one of the five best-selling electric cars in Europe (it finished fourth in 2022), the Italian brand has just released the E-Ulysse, its third 100% “battery-powered” model after the 500 and the e-Dubled. Although the name is borrowed from a minivan that was discontinued in 2010, and Fiat calls it a large minivan, the E-Ulysses has the classic size and shape of a mid-size van. Of course, they are more modern, luxurious and designed to transport passengers in any of its modes.

Fiat E-Ulysses is a great minivan or electric passenger.

Van or minivan?

The Fiat E-Ulysse is arguably the Italian version of the Stellar midsize electric van. Manufactured in the same plant in Hordain (France) where the Peugeot e-Traveller, Citroën ë-Spacetourer and Opel Zafira-e Vita are manufactured, the E-Ulysse differs from its French and German cousins in that it only manages to do so. to eight people (one less than other models).

The lounge trim level offers a very luxurious interior.

A room on wheels

Conversely, the interior space of the E-Ulysses is more luxurious than its neighbors, especially in the Lounge trim level, with capacity for seven occupants, second-row swivel seats, a double folding table, a panoramic glass sunroof and a practical rear window. ‘Magic Windows’ is said to access the trunk without opening the back.

Great modularity

The interior space can be easily configured according to the needs of transporting passengers and luggage. In the saloon-type 7-seater version there are up to 16 interior configurations, while in the 8-seater version (with the two rear rows of three individual seats) there are 12 configurations. It can also be configured to carry only 5 people and thus increase the volume of cargo.

The Fiat E-Ulysses is available in two body lengths.

Fiat E-Ulysse has a very modern and technological mission.

Drive impressions

We just tested the Fiat E-Ulysse on a round trip between Madrid and Toledo and found it to be a huge car, albeit agile, comfortable and easy to drive. The driving position is a mix between a minivan and a typical van, with a raised seat for the driver and passenger that ensures excellent visibility on the road. Thanks to the ergonomic level of the driver, the store is easily accessible and the seats are very comfortable, even on long journeys. In the Lounge version, the seats are made of leather, electronically adjustable and have the function of a missile, heating and even lumbar support.

Extensive standard equipment

The 100% electric E-Ulysses starts with a wide range of equipment, including 17″ alloy wheels, reclining and removable seats, leather upholstery, three-zone air conditioning, sunshades and panels for the rear seats and a storage net in the trunk.

The interior space can be configured for transportation needs.

ADAS systems

It has many assistive systems such as traffic sign recognition, lane change alert, blind spot alert, pre-collision alert with pedestrian detection and emergency brake control. In addition, it is equipped with a view of the rear camera to facilitate parking and to control the grip with four driving modes: tarmac, snow, sand or mud.

As for the infotainment system, it includes a 7-inch color touch screen with Apple Car Play, Android Auto and the Connect Nav service provided by TomTom, with information on traffic, parking, gas stations, local weather and points of interest.
