Fire protection firm Rightech to add 50 jobs in Mullingar

Westmeath-based fire protection company Wrightch is about to create 50 new jobs at its new €2m design and innovation center in Mullingar.

It announced Tuesday that it has also acquired Swedish fire safety firm CE Sprinkler, which employs more than 30 people.

This is the firm’s second acquisition in the past month, following the purchase of UK-based fire fighting firm, Compco, which added 200 employees to the group.

Ritec provides and installs fire protection from some of the world’s largest companies in the pharmaceutical, retail, data center, office and food and beverage sectors.

The firm’s new design and innovation center will add more than 16,000 square feet to Wrightach’s existing facilities, spanning three levels and including a gym, design and project innovation suite, office and meeting areas.

Minister of State for Trade Promotion Robert Troy formally opened the center on Tuesday, saying it will “drive forward” Ritec’s international growth.

“Importantly this expansion and development overseas will create 50 new high quality jobs in Mullinger.

“I am delighted to see that a company with such strong roots in Westmeath continues to grow from strength to strength and I am sure it will continue to do so in the future.”

Ted Wright, chief executive of Wright, said the opening of the new center was “the culmination of a vision we had many years ago in Mullinger to create a world-class operation that will lead and transform the industry in Ireland, Europe and beyond”. .

“I am also pleased to welcome the CE Sprinkler team to the group,” he added.

“The company is an excellent addition to the group and opens up further opportunities in new markets as we continue to expand our reach and prospects for future growth around Europe.

“We look forward to sharing our collective expertise and building on our strong position and the success we have achieved so far.”

Ritec’s growth is backed by Dublin-based investment firm Waterland Private Equity Ireland, which invested in the group last year.
