The first Chinese Latin American Economic and Commercial Exchange Conference met today in Cuba, and has one of its goals to achieve high-quality development for the people.
The event, which was held at the National Hotel, also served to present the China Latin America Industrial Park (Picla), led by the vice president of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of the municipality of Hangzhou, Xu Ming.
Xu explained that the event is part of the Hangzhou Chamber of Commerce’s series of activities in 2023 and represents a new opportunity for economic and cultural exchange and collaboration.
He recalled that Cuba was the first country in Latin America to establish relations with China, whose traditional relations of friendship were maintained thanks to the joint efforts of governments and people, and extended to economic and commercial cooperation.
Regarding the creation of Picla, he explained that it marks an important milestone, because it will contribute to the development of economic exchange, collaboration and development of the industries of the two countries.
For his part, the president of Picla, Simon Huang Qiaoming, stated that this platform will promote strong collaboration, cooperation in the industrial structure, and contribute to the creation of a high-quality investment environment and opportunities. to progress.
At the same time, he continued, it will offer an important platform for those Chinese companies that want to expand in the Cuban market.
Picla, he emphasized, will focus on many industrial sectors such as manufacturing, information technology, biotechnology, and financial services.
As well as the introduction of advanced technologies and management experiences from China to promote the transformation and modernization of the Cuban industry to improve its competitiveness.
Currently, he assured, Picla has 53 established companies and another 15 have expressed interest in joining, it also has 10 investment projects in: light manufacturing, logistics, wholesale and retail sales, automotive, medical services , real estate and manufacturing industry.
In the manager’s opinion, after this Conference, other companies will join together to become part of the famous Picla family and cooperate in its development, which will represent a new impetus for cooperation between the two countries.
