First Look: Inside Sweetwater Brewing Company’s Huge Fort Collins Taproom

Beer is officially flowing at Sweetwater Brewing Company’s massive new taproom and production facility in Fort Collins.

The brewery, which is headquartered in Atlanta, relocated to Red Truck Brewing Company in July to anchor its expansion in the western United States and add up to 80,000 barrels to its annual production capacity, said Laird Mulderink, vice president. Said of operations in Colorado.

As part of a recent facility remodel, Mulderink said the crew “sweetwaterized” a spacious, 10,000-square-foot taproom where drinkers can find 18 draft taps, including 420 pale ale-like brews from the brewery. There are staples as well as special releases. The taproom opened to the public on 18 December.

“We added a few more windows to the production area and moved the canning line to make room for the brighter tanks,” Mulderink said, “so when you’re sitting in the taproom enjoying a beer, you have to see these big windows. See and be seen. Beer canning is manipulating the line.”
