Florida governor’s wife diagnosed with breast cancer

Florida Gov. Ron de Santis announced Monday that his wife has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

I am saddened that the Honorable First Lady of Florida and my beloved wife have been diagnosed with breast cancer. As the mother of three young children, Casey has been the center of our family and has influenced the lives of countless Floridians through her initiatives as First Lady. As he faces the toughest test of his life, he will receive not only my unwavering support but also the support of our entire family, as well as prayers and good wishes from Floridians in our state, ”Republican Desantis said in his first term, in a statement.

“Casey is a true fighter, and he will never, ever, ever give up,” he added.

Cassie de Santis, 41, has not yet commented on the diagnosis.

She is the mother of Madison, 4, Mason, 3, and Mammy, 1.

Gov. De Desantis is thought to be a potential Republican presidential candidate in 2024, but he says he is focused on winning re-election in 2022. Yet, at the same time, he has traveled to multiple states, including Texas and Nebraska, in recent months.

After the announcement of the diagnosis, the message of good wishes began to come.

“I was shocked to hear the news of Casey de Santis having breast cancer. Pray with God for complete recovery. She is a terrible, kind woman around.”

“Today I am thinking of Casey de Santis and other women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It is a reminder that it is #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth and it is very important to get tested,” Julia added to Manchester The Hill.
