Florida man confesses to killing neighbor’s chicken: ‘I was afraid for my safety’

A fight between Florida neighbors over a dead chicken has gone viral on the pretext of killing the accused chicken killer – that he was acting in self-defense.

“I’m defending myself, you know,” Knicks told the station. “I was afraid for my safety, and the chicken died.”

Nix said he grabbed a nearby stick and “accidentally” hit a chicken owned by neighbor Jason DeFelice in the head, killing the man’s beloved pet.

“Call it a lucky shot, whatever,” Knicks told the station.

Defelis, who lives across the street, later came home and found his chicken dead because the animal did not greet him as usual.

“Next thing you know, call the chicken police on me,” Knicks told Action News Jax. “In churches, poppies, and Kentucky Fried Chicken – chickens die every day. Literally.”

Nix was checking his mail when the cock allegedly sprang up. He didn’t know how to react other than leaving the scene last month, he admitted.
