A Florida woman won $1 million on a lottery scratch-off ticket at a gas station.
Darlene Vazquez Sierra, 41, bought a $10 scratch-off from the Florida Lottery Mystery Multiplier game on Monday and took home the top prize.
Luck smiled on this woman who recently moved from Orlando to the state capital, Tallahassee, where she stopped at the Star Food & Gas Service station at 3601 Woodville Highway to purchase her winning ticket.
“So far we like Tallahassee, and it will certainly help us with our home search,” he told lottery officials.
Vazquez Sierra opted to receive his prize in a one-time payment of $798,985.
The business that sells you the winning ticket will earn a $2,000 commission.
The women’s win is the first for this scratch-off in 2023 and the first in Tallahassee.
The Florida Lottery recalled in a statement that the $1 Mystery Multiplier game launched in May 2022 and has more than $148.1 million in total cash prizes.
“This ticket offers 10 top prizes of 1 million each and 20 second tier prizes of 100,000 each! The total odds of winning for the game are 1 in 3.31,” he said.
There are 10 1 million tickets in The Mystery Multiplier game and six have been paid out for 2022, with four winning tickets yet to be claimed.
