Foals among the performers share their excitement ahead of taking the Glastonbury stage

Foals, Kae Tempest and Inhaler are among the bands and artists expressing their excitement for taking the stage at Glastonbury in the coming days.

The long-awaited festival opened its gates on Wednesday morning for the first time in three years to revelers who have been queuing since early morning to be among the first ticket holders on the spot.

Global stars Billie Eilish, Sir Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar will headline the festival, while Diana Ross will fill the Sunday Tea Legends slot.

Rock band Foals said they are “honored” to headline the Other Stage this Friday night as they return to the festival for the sixth time.

Sharing photos of their previous performances on Instagram, they wrote: “The opportunity to play the World’s Greatest Festival for the sixth time (!!!) is humiliating and, simply put, we would not have had this privilege without all of your support from the very beginning. days.

“It’s been a long three years since we last visited The Farm. We promised that the wait is worth it. Come celebrate with us.”

They also thanked festival co-organizer Emily Eavis and the Glastonbury crew for inviting them to perform again.

Poet and rapper Kae Tempest, 36, opened up about her journey through the festival over the past 10 years in an Instagram post.

Tempest will play several slots this year on a schedule including a freestyle session with producer and mixer Dan Carey on Thursday, as well as The Other Stage on Friday, which they called their “biggest show” at Glastonbury and “potentially ever- or”.

They also noted that this would be their first performance at Worthy Farm as they announced in August 2020 that they were changing their name and would be using they/they pronouns.

Sharing a video clip of their previous performances at the festival, they wrote: “I’ve been playing @glastofest anyway for at least 10 years, climbing stage by turn, from the chai wallah tea tent and street performances at the circus field in Park, West Holts, and now on another stage.

“It means so much to me to be there and this will be my first role as Kae. I can’t wait to be up there and feel more joyful and present in my body than ever before. With love”.

Irish rock band Inhaler also expressed their excitement about debuting at Worthy Farm.

They shared a series of photos from their recent concert, saying, “We’re getting ready to lose our virginity @glastofest tonight with a warm-up.”

Glastonbury 2022 also features new acts such as Arlo Parks, Doja Cat, Easy Life, Fontaines DC and Griff, alongside established names including Crowded House, Primal Scream and Supergrass.

The Pet Shop Boys will headline The Other Stage in a “highly anticipated” performance, and former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant will appear alongside American country and bluegrass star Alison Krauss following the release of their second album together.
