According to a report, “Friends” star Mike Haggerty reportedly died of an adverse reaction to a drug that sent him into a coma.
Sources close to the actor told TMZ that Haggerty still had low energy after a leg infection in April. The 67-year-old actor was ready to start shooting season 2 of the HBO comedy “Somebody Somewhere,” so a doctor sent him to the hospital for a checkup.
There, Haggerty was reportedly given a new antibiotic that caused a stroke and slipped into a coma.
His “Somebody Somewhere” co-star Bridget Everett broke the news of his death in an Instagram post on Friday.
Everett wrote, “It is with great sadness that the family of Michael G. Haggerty announced his passing yesterday in Los Angeles.”
“We are deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Mike Haggerty,” HBO said in a statement. A member of the HBO family for many years, his most recent role as Bridget Everett’s father in ‘Somebody Somewhere’ showed his special talent for bringing heart to a performance. Haggerty was best known for playing Building Superintendent Mr. Trigger in the long-running NBC sitcom “Friends”.


He appeared in a plethora of TV series during his career, including guest appearances on “Boston Legal,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Cheers,” “Community,” “CSI,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Entourage,” “Glee,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Happy Endings,” “Shameless,” “Seinfeld” and many others.
He stayed true to the sitcom genre in 1994 with regular roles in Fox’s “The George Carlin Show” and HBO’s “Lucky Louie”, which premiered in 2006.
