The musical group Garibaldi, very successful in the ’80s and ’90s, announced their return to the stage with a new tour called GB5, which will feature five of their original members: Katia Llanos, Victor Noriega, Luisa Fernanda, Charly López, and Patricia Manterola. However, one of the group’s most iconic members, Sergio Mayer, will not be present at this meeting.
The five artists offered a press conference to announce the details of their upcoming shows, which will take place in various cities in Mexico and the United States in 2023. During the presentation, journalists asked her about the absence of Sergio Mayer, who recently took part in the reality show La Casa de los Famosos and took fourth place.
GB5 members stated that they had no conflict with Sergio Mayer but that it was his personal choice not to be involved in this project. As they noted, they worked with him on a few events last year, but then he decided to start a new group with other singers.
“It’s okay; last year we were working with him and suddenly he decided to start a new group; that’s basically how it happened. There have been several events and photos with new members circulating, and we respect his decision,” said Katia Llanos.
“The reality is that people asked for the originals, and we made it our mission to please them, and we love that they continue to receive us to this day. “We always say it’s the last, and we’re going. I don’t want to say anything more because we are very happy,” he added.
The singers also mentioned that another reason Sergio Mayer didn’t join GB5 is that he is focused on his own professional projects. Currently, the actor is also involved in the Team Infierno tour and the return of the show Solo para mujeres with new members.
For his part, Charly López assured that there was no distance or resentment towards his former partner and that he wished him all the best in his plans. “There is no problem with Sergio; on the contrary, we send him a hug and good luck in what he does,” he said.
Therefore, GB5 is preparing to relive Garibaldi’s hits with its fans, who can enjoy their music and dance in a show full of nostalgia and fun.
