Both sides of Highway 10 between Holt Blvd and Euclid Avenue will be completely closed from Friday evening, San Bernardino County’s transport agency said.
Lane closures in the west and east will occur every night from 11:00 pm Friday, October 15th, and again on Saturday, October 16th. The closing remains in effect until 10:00 the next day. According to the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority, motorists should take detour routes or avoid freeways altogether.
Construction crews will be busy demolishing the Campus Avenue Bridge in Ontario, one of 18 bridges in the 10-mile corridor between the Los Angeles County Line and Freeway 15, which will be replaced, expanded or improved to accommodate the 10th Freeway expansion and addition … two lanes of traffic, called express lanes, in each direction.
One new lane will be built west of Haven Avenue, which will merge with the existing parking lane to create two express lanes in each direction.
Other workarounds for this project in October include:
• Closing of the Eastbound Central Avenue exit at Montclair by 5:00 am Friday 15 October.
• The three right-hand lanes on West Highway 10 from Milliken Avenue to Haven Avenue are to be closed for 55 hours on the following days: 10:00 pm to 5:00 am on October 25th and from 10:00 pm on October 29th to 5:00 am November. 1. During the first closure, the Haven Avenue Westbridge exit will be closed. The second closure will also close the westerly loop at the Haven Avenue exit.
The Campus Avenue Bridge is expected to open by mid-2022. Campus Avenue is closed on Highway 10.
