AlburyCity and Wodonga Council are pleased to launch Live Albury Wodonga – our region’s latest resident attraction initiative.
The Live Albury Wodonga Brand is a Two Cities One Community Project designed to complement existing brands, visit and invest in Albury Wodonga. The project supports the attraction of new residents, further strengthens and diversifies the community and helps attract skilled workers to the region.
Both Councils recognize that the continued development of our region will result in stronger economies, better cultural and social opportunities and increased vitality. Live Albury Wodonga highlights our lifestyle offering and further strengthens our reputation as an outstanding place in which we live and work.
Low cost of living, less traffic congestion, stronger career opportunities, work-life balance and dynamic arts, culture and leisure activities are major drivers for metropolitan residents relocating to regional cities such as Albury Wodonga. Both councils have noticed a trend in residents relocating to the area to reduce their daily commute times and find a better work-life balance.
The Live Albury Wodonga website provides a centralized point of view of information and valuable resources for those considering moving to the area. The site allows visitors to find employment opportunities, lifestyle, property, education and employment information. It also includes a Skills Board, which provides a free, ongoing advertising opportunity for the skills needed to support economic activity in our community.
“Live Albury Wodonga is a great way to bring the two cities together, showcasing all the experiences and benefits that make our region one of the most livable in Australia,” said Albury City Mayor Kylie King.
“People come here for the connected space, career opportunities and support services, but also fall in love with the vibrancy and a surprisingly diverse and culturally rich community.”
Wodonga Mayor Kew Poulton said the aim of the program is for potential newcomers to share everything they know about living and working at the border.
“We all know that Albury Wodonga offers a wonderful regional lifestyle with great opportunities for families to work and invest – and that is the message we want to share with those who have yet to live here. Not lucky enough,” he said.
“We are excited by the opportunities to create sustainable, beneficial development for both cities by welcoming new residents with the skills to make our community a better place to live and work.”
