Google will begin publicly testing its AR smart glasses next month: What it means, how it works and more

Google is finally ready to take its test lab prototypes public, and here we are, talking about the company’s work in the field of AR glasses. Google has officially confirmed that it is going to start public testing of its AR smart glasses next month.

“This will allow us to better understand how these devices can help people in their daily lives,” Google writes in this blog post. AR smart glasses will incorporate navigation, which requires real-time data and analysis of weather and traffic conditions in the area.

How Google will test its smart AR glasses

Google plans to take things slowly, which is why some of the tests will be done with the help of Googlers and its trusted testers. These people will wear an AR smart glass prototype, which will help the company analyze its performance and effectiveness.

It says that these devices do not support photography or videography, so it will use the image data to help you in different situations. The whole process is expected to be slow, and Google wants to ensure that the privacy of all testers is maintained.
