Gordon Ramsay has said he is “can’t wait to get started” on a new series, Next Level Chef, which will debut on ITV next year.
According to the producers, the eight-part cooking competition to find the next culinary star has been billed as “TV’s most challenging and epic cooking competition”.
The series, which originally aired on US broadcaster Fox in January, will air for the first time in the UK in 2023.
The show takes place in three kitchens on three different levels, from the “Utopia” of the top-level kitchen to the “waste” basement level – as the contestants vie to move on to the next level.
It is designed to challenge the creativity, dexterity, short temper and experience of the participants and to determine how aspiring chefs fare under the best conditions, and what they can create in the worst.
Chef and restaurateur Ramsay said: “The next level chef goes beyond just the next level. Cooking competition, epic on every level.
“From the size of the huge structure to every problem, every moment of danger is huge.
“I want our chefs, social media stars, home cooks, regardless of their level and experience, to show me what they are capable of.

“Whether they cook in a dream kitchen with all the gadgets and the best ingredients, or in an average kitchen with good equipment, good ingredients but no frills, or, and this is getting really interesting, in a basement kitchen. .
“Super simple, minimal ingredients and leftovers, then show me what you’re really made of.
“Talent and perseverance will definitely show up and someone will walk away with the same next level prize, I can’t wait to get started.”
Ramsay will be joined by two of the most “elite names in cooking” who have yet to be named.
Each of the three judges will mentor a group of chefs who will compete against each other to excel in the kitchen, cook upscale dishes and avoid elimination.
Only one entrant can be named the next level chef, and the winner will receive a life-changing £100,000 cash prize and a year of mentoring from all three judges.
A casting call is underway to find the best chefs in the UK, from hobbyists to social media stars.
Last August, Ramsay and the Fox television network launched Studio Ramsay Global, a production company now producing Next Level Chef.
The program was commissioned for ITV by entertainment chief Kathy Rawcliffe, who said: “Chef Next Level is a fast-paced, in-place cooking competition in a league of its own.
“We are so delighted to welcome Gordon back to the UK and to get started with perhaps the most ambitious TV studio the world has to offer.”
