The Government declared the tourism sector in a national emergency and issued measures to mitigate the serious crisis that tourism is going through as a result of COVID-19.
Through Supreme Decree No. 004-2022-Mincetur, published the day before in the extraordinary edition of the legal regulations of the official gazette A Peruvian manthe tourism sector was declared an emergency until December 31, 2022.
The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (mincetur) will approve by ministerial resolution the Emergency Plan for the Tourism Sector within a period of 15 business days from this Saturday.
The Emergency Plan for the Tourism Sector aims to establish sectoral measures to mitigate the serious crisis that tourism is going through as a result of COVID-19, as well as to propose and support regulations before the competent authorities based on the following lines of action :
– Financial rescue measures.
– Economic support measures.
– Tourism facilitation measures.
– Measures to encourage investment in tourism.
– Measures for tourism promotion.
The Mincetur will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the measures contained in the Emergency Plan, under the supervision of the Executive Board for the Development of the Tourism Sector, created by Ministerial Resolution No. 307-2018-EF/10 and its amendments.
This supreme decree is published in the Single Digital Platform of the Peruvian State for Citizen Orientation (www.gob.pe) and in the digital headquarters of Mincetur www.gob.pe/mincetur).
