Great match for the Volleyball National League: Argentina faces Brazil in Canada

The Argentina men’s volleyball team will play its second match in the Volleyball National League (VNL) this Thursday as part of the first week of competition in Canada.The team led by Marcelo Mendez, a bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, will face Brazil with ESPN and Star+ telecast from 9:00 PM onwards.

Argentina opened the VNL on Tuesday with a straight-sets win over reigning world champions Italy, 25-22, 25-23 and 25-18, with Bruno Lima as the partial and top-scorer (17).

The Volleyball National League will be played over three weekends. The best 16 teams will fight for a place in the finals of the tournament to be held in Poland from 19 to 23 July.

After this Thursday’s game, Argentina’s agenda includes commitments against Canada (Friday, 9:00 p.m. ET) and the Netherlands (Sunday, 12:00 p.m. ET).

The first day also saw China’s 3–2 victory over Bulgaria, Japan’s 3–0 victory over Iran and Canada’s 3–2 victory over Cuba.

This Thursday’s matches are: Slovenia-Serbia; Poland-France; United States-Netherlands; and Brazil-Argentina.
