Rockets-Hawks game tips can be viewed or streamed at 2:30 p.m. CDT and via AT&T SportsNet Southwest and NBA League Pass. Atlanta will play for Seeding and host a game in the upcoming Eastern Conference play-in tournament for the playoffs.
The Rockets are clearly the underdogs, but led by Kevin Porter Jr. and rookie backcourt mate Jalen Green, they could potentially challenge Trey Young and the Hawks. Houston has covered the spread in its last three games versus teams that will play beyond the regular season (the Raptors, Nets and Timberwolves), including a nearly upset Friday in Toronto.
If they lose to Atlanta (42–39), the Rockets (20–61) will secure the No. 1 positioning slot to enter the 2022 NBA Draft Lottery. On the other hand, should Houston win, Orlando will have a chance to tie for the league’s worst record when they face Miami later in the day.
The Rockets could close in on the worst ever record, which guarantees their pick will be no worse than #5 as they lose to Atlanta in the season finale on Sunday.
If they win, they could end up with no worse than a tie with Orlando, which would give them a 50-50 tiebreaker shot. https://t.co/X5C7691wen

Houston surprised the Hawks in the last meeting between these two teams in December 2021. However, the Rockets were led by veteran guard Eric Gordon and DJ Augustin, who will not be on court on Sunday. Veteran wing David Nawaba, who has not been in Houston’s rotation in recent weeks, was instrumental in slowing down Young.
Hawks at Rockets Notable Injuries (April 10)
Houston’s injury report lists Eric Gordon, Christian Wood and Dennis Schroder as out (mainly to rest), while Jalen Greene is suspected to have an illness. If Greene cannot play (he remains a presumed starter in the game notes), fellow rookie Josh Christopher can start. Two-way players Trevelin Queen and Anthony Lamb, along with un-drafted rookie Daishen Knicks, are currently assigned to the G League.
Jalen Greene is suspected to have played with an illness against the Atlanta Hawks in Sunday’s Rockets season finale. Another change in the injury/condition report. The Daishen Nix were sent back to the Vipers in time for the G League Western Conference Finals.

As for the Hawks, John Collins is out with finger and leg injuries, while Lou Williams is suspected of having a lower back problem. Bogdan Bogdanovic has potential for Atlanta with pain in right knee.
No team is back-to-back, so maintenance considerations should be minimal for head coaches Nate McMillan and Stephen Silas. For the Rockets, of course, this is their last regular-season game for months—so expect them to drop it all on the court at Toyota Center.

advice and predictions
The spread is large due to record inequality and Atlanta’s greater incentive to win. Still, Porter enters with apparent speed, and it should be a rosy atmosphere at the Toyota Center as part of “Fan Appreciation Day”—with everyone in the building knowing it’s the last time the Rocket. Will play a real game for about six months. ,
Picking Houston to win, outright, sounds overly aggressive, but it would be surprising if they weren’t busy and trying to enter the offseason on a positive note. As such, our bet is that they cover for the fourth straight game.
