Kaitlyn Coones, a 17-year-old girl from Cleveland (United States), is accused of killing her mother-in-law, Nicole Jones, 53. As revealed by the prosecutor in the case, the young woman admitted that he ended the woman’s life because he interfered with her relationship with Jonathan Jones, the son of the murdered woman.
As revealed by the American media, ‘Metro’, the young woman told Jonathan that they had to do something with Nicole: “Kaitlyn told Jonathan that they had to do something about her mother because she prevented them from being with him and gave him five hours to do something with him,” Detective Albright told the aforementioned media.
Kaitlyn was in the custody of Stark County Children’s Services when she ran away in April to be with her partner. A few days after disappearing from the center, the woman sent a message to one of the nurses in which she said she had killed two people and asked them not to look for her.
Apparently, the young woman gave an ultimatum to her partner and asked him to end her mother’s life. The young woman picked up a rock from the garden, hit Nicole hard on the head, and then strangled her.
The couple went to a supermarket to buy cleaning products and garbage bags. They put the body in his car and left it in a landfill, according to the ‘Daily Mail’.
The two quickly headed south and crossed the border into Mexico, where they were eventually arrested. Investigators have yet to find the mother’s body and admit they never will.
The young woman was charged with murder, aggravated homicide, abuse of a dead body, and tampering with evidence. Jonathan is also accused of killing his mother. Kaitlyn’s attorney claims that she was manipulated by her partner and that she was not in her right mind at the time of the murder.
