The Xunta de Galicia open tomorrow, Wednesday January 24the call for help to get a driver’s license, addressed to young Galicians between 18 and 30 years old without a job. The help of those who got the card in 2023 can also be asked, because they were not called last year.
The budget allocated to this aid amounts to 800,000 euros. Each applicant can receive an amount of between 400 and 1,300 euros, which will cover part of the costs of driving licenses for cars, trucks and buses. Can ask for help until next September 30 or until credit runs out.
Applications should be submitted through Xunta’s electronic headquarters.
Who can ask for help
As stated in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG), the beneficiaries of this aid must meet the following requirements:
- young people has reached the age of 18 (without prejudice to the minimum age for obtaining class C and D permits) and not over 31 years old.
- Registered in Galicia with a minimum age of one year.
- not working on your own account or on behalf of others.
- The card for which this assistance is requested has been approved with an issue date between January 1, 2023 and filing date on request.
The amount of assistance will be 400 euros to get a class B driver’s license650 euros for a class C permit and 1,300 euros for a class D permit.
The DOG states that the application submission period begins the day after the publication of the decree (that is, January 24, 2024) and is open until September 30, 2024unless the available budget credit is exhausted beforehand.
