Here are the 2021 Twin Cities Veterans Day Events, Including Free Food and Entertainment for Service Members

Here is a list of metro area monuments and events in recognition of Veterans Day on Thursday:

Thursday

Blaine: Community celebration at Veterans Memorial Park inside Tom Ryan Park at 2 p.m.

Bloomington: West Point Glee Club will travel from New York and perform in Minnesota for the first time. Open to the public and starting at 5 p.m. at the Mall of America in the Huntington Bank Rotunda.

Forest Lake: American Legion Post 225 will host its annual Veterans Day event at 6 p.m. Legion is located at 355 W. Broadway Ave.

Online: The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs will produce a 30-minute video to honor Minnesota veterans due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The video will be available on the department’s website, mn.gov/mdva.

Veterans Park, North St. Paul: Veterans Park is holding its annual Veterans Day Commemoration at 11 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to gather at 10:45 a.m. The event is led by a member of the North St. Paul Veterans Park Committee, representative of North St. Paul VFW Post 1350 will do; Cadets from the North St. Paul High School Air Force Junior ROTC will present a short program and the North St. Paul High School Choir will perform. The recently departed former pastor and respected veteran of Veterans Park, Jerry Nalipinski, will also have a special recognition. The American Legion Post 39 will feature a three-volley salute, flag detail and tap playing. Veterans Park is at 2480 Margaret St.

St. Thomas Academy, Mendota Heights: The annual Veterans Day gathering will begin at 1:30 p.m. with cadets from St. Thomas Academy in attendance, while Senator Amy Klobuchar Medal of Honor recipient Captain Thomas G. Kelly will be rewarded. St. Thomas’ Academy, Founders Hall 949 Mendota Heights Road Mendota Heights.

St. Paul: Legion Post 8 will hold its fifth annual walk at 1 p.m., starting from the Veterans Service Building at 20 W. 12th St. The walk will go through Downtown St. Paul and will be about a mile and a half. Participants are encouraged to bring flags.

Stillwater Veterans Memorial: The 17th Annual Veterans Day celebrations will begin at 11:30 am. The 40-minute ceremony will feature music, a guest speaker and new power recognition. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Stillwater Veterans Memorial, 138 Pine Street W. This event is given to veterans at 11 a.m. after the annual Downtown Stillwater Salute.

Minneapolis: Veterans for Peace will hold its annual Armistice Day celebrations at 10:30 a.m. at the Sheridan Park Veterans Memorial at 1300 Water St. The 4½-mile walk to the memorial will begin at 8 a.m. at the World War I remembrance site in North Minneapolis. ,

New Prague: The West Point Glee Club will be performing in Minnesota for the first time. Free admission and open to the public and groups from 1:30 pm at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church at 215 Main St. E.

Veterans Day Free Meals, Ex-Servicemen Entertainment and Active Duty Military

Applebee’s: Full-size free entree from select menu with proof of service, beverages not included. Available all day on Thursdays.

Hi-V: Free breakfast buffet from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. for veterans and active-duty military. There will be a contactless option of pre-packaged breakfast ready for pickup via a drive-thru in the parking lot. State and local legislators will volunteer at selected places. Lieutenant Government Peggy Flanagan Cottage Grove Location, 7280 E. Attend breakfast at Point Douglas Road S, 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Veterans and service members will also receive 15 percent off all-day grocery shopping. Additionally, customers are asked to participate in the Hi-Vee Homefront Roundup by Sunday. The annual fundraiser raises money to support veterans, active-duty military members, and their families.

Taco John: Free Small Beef Taco Combos for Veterans and Active-Duty Military of All Locations when you use Code Veteran in the mobile app.

Rock Bottom Brewery: 10% off all day. The restaurant is located at 825 Hennepin Avenue, Suite 125 in Minneapolis.

Barbecue at home by Dicky’s Barbecue: From Thursday through December 31, 15 percent off all orders for veterans and active-duty military when using the code VETERN15. All products are shipped nationwide.

Chilly: Free meals for veterans and active-duty military at all locations. Pre-metro locations include Maplewood, Roseville and Woodbury.

Dunkin’: Free donuts for veterans and the active-duty military. East-Metro locations include Maplewood, Roseville, St. Paul, West St. Paul and Woodbury.

Mason Jar Kitchen: Free breakfast, lunch or dinner entrees from the restaurant’s Honoring Veterans Menu. dine in only. The restaurant is located at 1565 Cliff Road in Egan. Make a reservation at https://masonjar.kitchen/.

Starbucks: Free tall, 12-ounce, hot brewed coffee for veterans, active-duty military, and military spouses. Multiple locations throughout the Eastern Metro. More info from Starbucks.

White Castle: Free combo meals or breakfast combo meals at all locations for veterans and the active-duty military. Pre-metro locations include Inver Grove Heights and St. Paul.
