East Ridge (2-2) at Woodbury, 7 pm (4-0)
The East Ridge defense has played well of late, surrendering with just 13 points in the last two games. But slowing down the Royals’ offense could be another story. Woodbury quarterback Jorge Bejelos has thrown 811 yards and 11 touchdowns through four games, spreading the ball around thanks to his many pass-catching options. our choice: Woodbury 27, East Ridge 13
Stillwater at White Bear Lake (4-0) (3-1), 7 p.m.
White Bear Lake and Stillwater fall under the Metro-Maroon North division. They will serve as measuring rods for each other just before the midpoint of the season. Stillwater’s offense has come alive of late, with more than 40 points in each of its last two matches. It would be amazing for ponies to hang a number like that on a bear. our choice: Stillwater 24, White Bear Lake 17
Lakeville South (4-0) at Rosemount (3-1), 7 p.m.
Yes, Lakeville South had to go home to rival Lakeville North and win, and the Cougars have conquered Eden Prairie — of course, too. The top-ranked team of the state will also have to take the field to play an unbeaten Shakopi in two weeks. And yet it looks like moving to Rosemount and winning the Irish homecoming could be the Lakeville South’s toughest regular season. Are cougars ready for this? our choice: Lakeville South 13, Rosemount 10
Spring Lake Park (3-1) in Mahtomedi (4-0), 7 p.m.
The battle for the top 10 teams in Class 5A means Mahtomedi cannot be caught waiting for next week’s showdown with St. Thomas Academy. Zephyrs have the defense to fight anyone. our choice: Mahtomedi 20, Spring Lake Park 14
Prescott (5-1) at Ellsworth, 7 p.m.
Prescott has continued his impressive revival under coach Jordan Hansen. Cardinals senior Aiden Russell has 764 rushing yards and 16 total touchdowns through six games. But can Prescott take down the current beast of the mid-range conference in a game that will go a long way toward deciding a conference title? our choice: Ellsworth 24, Prescott 20
