Houston Texans have fired coach David Callie and the Chicago Bears coordinator has been interviewed. Here’s the latest from the NFL layoff and hiring cycle.

Change is in the air. Black Monday came to the NFL the day after the end of the regular season, when a flurry of major changes began in the league.

As of Thursday, the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans were looking for new head coaches, while the Bears, Vikings and Giants were looking for new general managers.

The Bears have interviewed at least 11 grandmaster candidates and nine coaching candidates.

Scoop: During his first tenure as head coach in the NFL, 40-year-old Judge scored 10-23, including 4-13 in 2021. After a 29-3 loss to the Bears in Week 17, Judge defended his team for 11 minutes while talking to the media.
