The 2022 Motul FIM Superbike World Championship is nearing its conclusion after a thrilling battle throughout the season, but all three titles are in line, coming the final round in Indonesia. Ducati is the manufacturer that has the advantage in this last stretch. lvaro Bautista (aruba.it Racing – Ducati) leads the Drivers’ Championship and Ducati Manufacturers’ Championship, and has a chance of winning both titles in Indonesia.
With a fierce fight for the Drivers’ Championship, the Manufacturers Championship is an equally hot battle between Ducati, Yamaha (current champions) and Kawasaki, all trying to touch glory in 2022 after an incredible season. Coming to the Pirelli Indonesian round, Ducati is on top with 538 points and 124 remaining available from the final two rounds (the highest-scoring rider from each manufacturer in each race contributes to the total score).
With the Indonesian and Australian rounds leading 65 points over Yamaha in the standings, Ducati could take the title on the Mandalika track this weekend if they finish the round with a 62-point lead or more over Yamaha and Kawasaki . Both Japanese brands could prevent Ducati from taking the title this year, but Yamaha will have to make up a 62-point deficit, while Kawasaki’s lack of 101 points in the last six races of the season. To win the Manufacturers Championship in Indonesia, Ducati could lose by three points or less to Yamaha in all three races, while it could drop to 39 points in its clash with Kawasaki.
