How much time do you have to watch this weekend?

When to watch: Now about Acorn TV.

If you like Call the Midwife, the recent version of the Durrells of Corfu, the current version of All Creatures Big and Small, or the folk parts of Baby, check out this cute drama. Based on Bates’ novel Lovely Maybuds, set in 1958, the series follows the quirky Larkin family: Ma and Pop (Joanna Scanlan and Bradley Walsh) and their six children. It’s all very gentle and bucolic, full of rich colors and high-waisted trousers, and the plots boil down to the fact that local snobs are ordered to fill them. Yes, the handsome stranger came by bike. The first two episodes are available now, the rest are weekly on Mondays.

“Saturday morning, all the stars!”

When to watch: Now on Netflix.

Kyle Mooney co-wrote and starred on this bizarre and stupid TV series that sits somewhere between BoJack Horseman’s Christmas episode and The Documentary. 80s and 90s cartoons parody show – Thunder Cats, Care Bears – and their stupid programming blocks. But it also drifts into a darker realm, eventually embracing bitter sibling rivalry, the missing tabloid case, and the moral panic over shut up kids. Mooney’s signature flat affect penetrates some of the more unusual elements, and the show’s aesthetic details are excellent.

“In Search of the Magic Mike”

When to watch: Now about HBO Max.

This new reality show follows the regular guys competing for $ 100,000. None of the men are professional exotic dancers, and each has obviously lost some of their “magic”; the show claims that learning about the movements seen in The Magic T-shirt will help them get that back. They learn choreography, lap dance and gain self-confidence, and the atmosphere is fun and surprisingly rewarding. It also offers an interesting insight into society’s attitudes towards heterosexual male sex work and what this attitude says about sex and gender in general, although I don’t think the show will put it in that way. If you like Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Building a Team or Floribama Shore Season 1, give this one a try.
