Huawei CFO Meng’s plea deal with the United States is the latest gift to China

News analysis

The Biden administration has been soft on communist China from the beginning.

Examples include withdrawing Trump-era executive orders that would bring economic benefits to the Chinese regime, hiring pro-Beijing mechanics to re-establish ties with China, and granting a real “hostage-taking” to a Huawei executive awaiting extradition to the United States. For financial crimes, including fraud.

Meng Wenzhou, Huawei’s chief financial officer, signed an application agreement (a “suspended prosecution agreement”) with the US Department of Justice (DOJ) on September 2. His main role is to run a scheme to defraud a global financial institution. He acknowledged that his confession had been obtained through torture, and that his confession had been obtained through torture. If he subsequently commits any of these acts, he will face apprehension and trial for the delayed offenses listed in the contract.

And however, the U.S. extradition request to Canada was withdrawn by the Trump administration, giving Meng the chance to return to China victorious in exchange for detaining two Canadians there, pending the trial of Trump up charges. DOJ see no damage and no foul.

Meanwhile, Chinese state media, which has been campaigning for Meng’s release since his arrest in Canada in December 2011, has been voicing his release and their “truth” for several days now. On Sept. 2, the Global Times posted an article with a picture of Meng “wav”[ing] To a merry crowd when he set foot[ped] Saturday outside a charter plane at Shenzhen Baoan International Airport in Shenzhen, southern China’s Guangdong province.

The payoff in Beijing’s “hostage diplomacy” is the latest in a series of ongoing Biden administrations by Chinese communists (the BKM administration) that began virtually from the first day of Joe Biden’s presidency.

Future hostage exchanges with ChiComs set the precedent: the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) could ensure the future release of Chinese nationals by arresting a number of unwanted foreigners on mainland China and using them to trade with spies and others facing trial. For actual crimes committed in the United States.

The Biden administration is apparently working hard to make concessions to China, including various executive orders and the appointment of Chinese-friendly equipment, including Foreign Secretary Anthony Blinken and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, positions that could be orchestrated in China in the future.

The following items are among the gifts given by the Biden administration in China since January.

Keystone XL pipeline canceled. On his first day in office, Biden signed an executive order canceling the Keystone XL pipeline, which carried millions of gallons of Canadian oil to refineries in the United States. The new regulations in that executive order were also designed to reduce domestic oil and gas production, and since then, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States has increased dramatically, as shown in the chart below.

Pictures of the ages
The cancellation of the pipeline was a direct economic gift for China because high energy prices make heavily subsidized green tech more economically sustainable, increasing the demand for Chinese-made electric vehicle batteries and solar panels. Washington’s rejoining of the Paris Agreement is a piece of China’s future with increased sales of green technology in the United States.

Facilitate ChiCom’s participation in the US power grid. Revoking the XL Pipeline Permit was a provision buried in the same executive order that revoked President Donald Trump’s Executive Order 13920 (Securing the U.S. Bulk-Power System) of May 1, 2020. The purpose of EO 13920 was to “prohibit, replace, and pose a national security threat to bulk-power systems (BPS) electrical equipment imported from abroad or nationally.” Imagine a future where Beijing could turn off or at least disrupt American light for geopolitical or economic gain!

“Xenophobia” memorandum. On Jan. 2, Biden explicitly signed a memorandum entitled “Fighting Racism,” “Memorandum condemning and condemning racism, xenophobia and intolerance against Asian Americans and Pacific islands in the United States.” One key provision was the federal agency’s directive “to alleviate racially discriminatory language in describing the Kovid-1 pandemic epidemic.” This means that the US government will label SARS-CoV-2 as “China virus” – a major propaganda coup for the CCP, which is trying to move away from the known origin of the virus in China by early 2020.

Arms sales are frozen in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. On January 27, the Biden administration imposed a “temporary” embargo on arms sales to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. As discussed here in a previous Epoch Times analysis, a long-term CCP goal is to drive the United States out of the Middle East, and stopping arms sales to U.S. allies in the region is part of Chikmos’ strategy.

Support for the ‘one-China’ policy. Despite Beijing’s forced exploitation of Hong Kong and growing intimidation of Taiwan by the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) and air force, the Biden administration has publicly declared its continued support for the “one-China” policy. What will Biden do if the Chinese military invades Taiwan?

Appointment of pro-China ambassador to UN. Biden appointed Linda Thomas-Greenfield as ambassador to the United Nations. He is on record for praising CCP’s Global Belt and Road Initiative (BRI, also known as “One Belt, One Road”), which uses debt trap diplomacy to control foreign ports and other transport infrastructure. He actually was Provided by CCP That lecture will have to be given at a Confucius Institute event in 2019. His words will no doubt be “tough” on the warrant, but the practical steps aimed at confronting communist China at the UN will be minimal.

Lifting the ban on CCP promotion in US universities. As reported here, the Trump-era policy was to “force primary, secondary, and post-secondary institutions to disclose all agreements and transactions with the Confucius Institute” so that non-affiliated schools lose their certification for the Student and Exchange Visitor Program. The Biden II policy was repealed in January, reopening the door to continued vandalism of American colleges and universities through the Confucius Institute in China.

WeChat and TikTok hold the case. In February, the DOJ seized two important lawsuits involving Chinese technology company Tiktok and WeChat. The Trump administration banned the use of the app for security reasons, including concealing user information and “malicious intent” by Chinese actors / bots. In June, the U.S. Department of Commerce officially withdrew a list of previously banned transactions with Tiktok and WeChat, opening the door to destroy the CCP of Americans using those apps.

Identifying the CCP genocide as a “cultural norm”. In late February, Biden publicly called Xi Jinping’s failure to talk about the genocide of Uighur Muslims part of a “different ideology.” He said, “What [Xi] Taiwan and the one-China policy with the Uyghurs in the western mountains of China, and he got it. Culturally each country has different rules and their leaders are expected to follow. A logical explanation is that Biden provided diplomatic protection for the CCP aggression in the future to continue in East Turkistan, Tibet, southern Mongolia, Hong Kong and even Taiwan!

The CCP is overseeing a review of sympathetic Trump-era China policy. Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and Environment Melania Hart, Biden’s China policy coordinator, is leading a team reviewing Trump’s “Clean Network” initiative, which has encouraged countries to block Huawei from 5G networks. Hart visits China, which is sponsored by the dubious CCP-Front China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) and contributes to a report by the Center for American Progress that “calls for closer financial ties and military cooperation” in both countries. A lot to be “tough on China”.

Defeat at Anchorage. On March 18 and 1, Yang Jiechi, a member of China’s Politburo, and Foreign Minister Wang Yi verbally assaulted National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken. Sinoinsider summarizes here that the goal of the Chinese side’s “wolf warrior” diplomacy is to encourage the rise of Red China across a number of issues discussed, in general with the collapse of the United States and the West. And it was on the world stage for US allies to observe.

Canceling of C-launched nuclear cruise missiles. In June, the Biden administration canceled the U.S. Navy’s sea-propelled nuclear cruise missile program. The plan was made despite the growing threat of ship-powered cruise missiles and hypersonic weapons. The move underscores the importance of U.S. efforts to counter the superiority of the Chinese regime’s nuclear and conventional missiles in the South China Sea, the East China Sea and the Taiwan Strait.

Withdrawal of charges against Chinese nationals accused of espionage. In July, the DOJ withdrew lawsuits filed by the Trump administration against “five investigative researchers accused of concealing their ties to the Chinese military, questioning the department’s efforts to address China’s national security threats,” according to the New York Times.

Is not supporting compensation for “covid damage” from China. In early August, White House Press Secretary Jane Psyche said Biden would not support the Trump administration’s demands for “cowardly compensation” from China. ChiComs’ biggest fear is that a global sensation will develop that Beijing will have to compensate for the economic and personal damage caused by COVID-19. It seems the current administration allows China to hook off.

The gift of lithium from Afghanistan. This is the biggest gift the Biden administration has ever given Xi Jinping. The ongoing US ousting from Afghanistan has left the Taliban in charge of the country. Chikams already plans to exploit an estimated থেকে 1 to $ 3 trillion in lithium reserves in Afghanistan to produce Chinese batteries and other products. This is a perfect economic coup for ChiComs because the Biden administration pushes green technology, especially electric vehicles and EV batteries. The defeat was a major strategic geopolitical defeat for the United States, abandoning the Afghan allies and frustrating the US allies in the region.

Conclusion

On the big and small issues, the Biden administration is a gift-wrapping policy that favors Beijing. There are many more examples besides the list above. Gifts will continue, as there are some political employers in the administration who have been corrupted in the past by bribes, academic signatures and various awards and who are willing, willing and able to give handsome returns on their investments.
