The Benny Hill theme tune has been thrown out of speakers in Westminster following the resignation of Boris Johnson as leader of the Conservatives.
Rexit protester Steve Bray played iconic slapstick music outside No. 10 Downing Street, following actor Hugh Grant’s request on Twitter.
The burning topic can be heard in live news broadcasts as journalists deliver the latest developments in the political saga.
Mr Bray celebrated the return of his speakers this morning, a week after they were confiscated under a new law that aims to curtail vigorous protests.
The Notting Hill actor tweeted: “Glad you have your speakers back. Do you have Benny Hill music by any means?”
To which Mr Bray responded by tweeting a video of the song being played outside the Houses of Parliament.
He wrote: “Just for @HackedOffHugh as requested here at Media Circus today… College Green. Benny Hill theme tune.”
The Benny Hill theme was not the only satirical song played through Mr. Bray’s speakers.
Good Morning Britain suffered a minor interruption during a live broadcast on Wednesday as protesters began playing Bye Bye Boris, a parody tune by Somerld Mackay.

Bray, from Port Talbot, South Wales, held frequent protests against Brexit on College Green during 2018 and 2019 and has been heard shouting during TV news broadcasts before.
He has also been known to walk in the background of live TV reports, often wearing his flashy hat and carrying placards with anti-Brexit or anti-government messages.
