Hugo Beras thanked President Luis Abinedar Corona for his confidence last night, who he named it last night Director of the National Institute of Transit and Transportation (Interrent).
Beras said he had accepted the commitment to implement all Traffic, Transport and Road Safety Planning “With the determination and transparency that characterizes him”.
“I tell all Dominicans they will be proud of the change!” He wrote on his account on the social network Twitter.
Hugo Beras comes from work in the transport cabinet, Created by President Louis Abinedar. Previously, he was General Secretary of the National District’s Mayor’s Office, where he dealt with the issues of change of direction on the streets of the National District.
He was also a candidate for mayor of the Dominican Revolutionary Party, an organization from which he left for weeks to go ahead of municipal elections due in February 2020., It was then that he supported Carolina Mejia, General Secretary of the PRM and who ended up winning the municipal election in the Dominican capital.

Hugo Beres replaced Rafael Arias, who had been appointed by Abinador as consultant on public transport. Arias, a recognized leader of Konatra, one of the strongest passenger transport associations, took office in August 2020.
